SUITABILITY: Noctis is, at the heart of his being, a caring person. Even through his struggles with depression or his grief over the loss of his father, he manages to set aside personal sentiment for the sake of duty. He wants to live up to his family name and to carry on a legacy that, while not being one he would’ve chosen for himself, is of critical importance to his people. He would take this same sense of priorities and motivations into the game, ready to ally with LILITH against any and all threats to people that he deems vulnerable.

In addition to his commitment to the protection of others, Noctis has the capabilities to see his goals realized. He's trained with a wide array of weapons since childhood and has considerable mastery over all of them. Adding to this his Lucian magical qualities – included but not limited to his ability to maneuver incredibly well around particularly large opponents or his capacity to take a hell of a punch – enables Noctis to thrive in Synflux's setting. While the combat he's seen has been limited it has been traumatic, enabling him to grow through tough experiences and face new battles with considerable confidence.

Finally, his single-minded focus on what he's "meant" to do within canon will translate directly to loyalty to LILITH. He is the poster child for not questioning orders or the fate that others have decided for him, whether he likes what he hears or not. With even the slightest indication that what he's doing will help others, he will push forward and champion the cause.

    POWERS & SKILLS:
  • Weapons proficiency: with staves/spears, swords, guns, broadswords, daggers, axes, bows, shuriken, offensive shields, maces, and tridents

  • Warping: can warp short distances (as far as he can throw, really) to his weapons; he utilizes this by throwing his weapons and teleporting after them to travel more easily

  • Team support: also can support both summoning of weapons and short range teleportation for others — he gives his party members the skill to call their weapons in the main game and also bestows the ability on the player character (with warping as well, this time) in the Comrades expansion

  • Healing item creation: can make potions out of ordinary soft drinks

  • Dodging: in the same vein as his teleporting, Noctis can dodge almost any physical attack while leaving behind an after-image

  • Elemancy: Noctis can draw one of three elements from any applicable source where they exist (fire, ice, and electricity) and store them within himself to combine them into magical spells later; these can also be utilized by his party members. They do not require mp to use, then, but he can only store one spell per magic flask that he owns. These range in power depending on how much elemental energy he puts into them, from a very weak attack to a strong one with a wider range (a few meters in diameter) and multiple hits.

  • Advanced healing: Noctis heals rapidly from injuries he personally sustains. Serious singular hits (eg punctures to vital organs, decapitation, etc) are still fully capable of killing him, however, and healing only begins when he's able to rest.

  • Armiger: can call his Royal Arms (assorted weapons used by those in his bloodline) and use them in tandem for a brief period of time for a vicious physical assault (less than a minute unless imbued with an extra significant source of power) (NOTE: at his current canon point he only has four out of thirteen)

  • Hammerspace: can summon his weapons and otherwise stores them (along with other items he deems useful (they rarely are)) in his own personal hammerspace *

  • NERFED POWERS:

  • * NOTE: While I've read that hammerspace does not require nerfing, I do believe the contents of his hammerspace at present (namely weapons that are not part of his Royal Arms and consumables) should be purged, so as not to break the spirt of the personal item allowance!


  • PERSONAL ITEM: One of his magic flasks. This is used for storing the magic spells he creates through elemancy (listed above).
    ALTERNATE IDENTITY: Noctis will go by Samuel Night and he will be the proud owner of the Insomniacs Arcade, a lovely establishment filled to the brim with retro arcade systems, holographic display games, and even occasionally midway decent food.
