HEI
A Contractor. Or some version of one, but Noctis already has his doubts. He's slowly starting to understand the difference between what Hei shows and what Hei means, and he wants to help him more than he did before. It's gone beyond pity to shared interests and their joint dream still looms large in his mind.
ACHILLES
A legendary warrior. Their initial run-ins with each other were tumultuous at best, but Noctis has since come to realize that he's dependable. He has a sense of honor (and humor) that Noctis doesn't quite understand, but he's willing to learn if it means having a new teammate.
AKIRA
The most normal person he's met. Akira's got his oddities but overall he's far more down to Earth than the others Noctis has encountered, and that's something worth protecting. He's helped out with the shapers, too, which is even more of a bonus than helping with laundry.
ANGEL
His new roommate. If there's anyone more naïve in the ways of the world than he is, it's her. She seems sweet in spite of her obvious power, not arrogant about it or itching to use it unwisely. Definitely someone he wants to protect.
MIDNIGHTER
A human who's bad at it. He's had a rougher go than anyone else Noctis has met yet and thus he's that much harder to understand. That coupled with his mannerisms should probably make him back off, but really both just make his genuine affection for humans and his desire to help them that much more prominent. Also he's fun.
RYUJI
A normie? That's what Noctis hopes for, anyway, and what so far seems to be true. Ryuji's a fellow gaming enthusiast and loser, which has made him easy to talk to. He's not sure how reliable he is yet, but he reminds him a little too much of a certain someone.
CHIRON
Half-horse, all-teacher. If Noctis needed a gently scolding influence in his life with COST (and he does) then Chiron is probably the best possible option. He frustrates Noctis with his way of speaking both generally and philosophically, but maybe that's exactly the kind of challenge he requires.
SHINOBU
A fellow fashion expert. He has no idea what to make of her, not just yet. She comes across as tough and reasonable, however, and those are two qualities he could sorely use in his COST life. Despite not knowing the nature of her past he feels as if she has good intentions and he wants to get to know her better.
